A cased opening is a doorway with no door, trimmed out like it matters. Here are four, from a single door header to arches two stories tall.

What to send us for an opening
- A photo of the opening from each side.
- The width and height of the opening, and the ceiling height.
- Whether you want it square or arched.
- A photo of the trim already in the room, so the new work matches.
Cased openings questions
What's a cased opening?
A doorway with no door, trimmed on both sides and across the top the way a door would be. The openings on this page go further, with pilasters, corbels, and paneled headers.
What's the difference between a pilaster and a column?
A pilaster is flat and sits against the wall. A column is round and stands on its own. The arched openings on this page use both: round columns in front of fluted pilasters.
